Frequently asked questions.
What are your offerings?
Acupuncture, reiki, cupping, and yin yoga private sessions.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! For acupuncture treatments, I currently accept Aetna, Kaiser, and Triwest. Currently waiting on approval from Regence and Premera (yay).
What is the investment for acupuncture without using insurance?
The time of service investment is $125 for first time patients, and $110 for returning patients.
What should I expect at my first acupuncture session?
First sessions are about 75 minutes in duration to allow for extra time to get to know you! Before needles, I will be asking questions in regards to:
Why you are seeking support
Your past medical history
Your overall constitution
Anything you feel important for me to know to best support you
Once you’re on the table, I will take the time to feel your channels before needling. Once needles are inserted, you are able to rest. I can stay in the room with you or give you some space. Other modalities can be used in our time together such as cupping, gua sha, ear seeds, moxa, etc.
Does acupuncture hurt?
My goal is to never cause pain, I use very small needles and gentle techniques. It is common to sometimes feel a little poke, or nothing at all with insertion. Once the needle is inserted, it's normal to feel a heavy sensation, movement (some people say it feels like water), or nothing around insertion site.
How can acupuncture support me?
In my opinion, acupuncture is supportive for everything! My areas of focus include:
Psycho-emotional support (grief, stress, feeling stuck, anxiety, etc.)
Physical body pain
Gastrointestinal complaints
Insomnia
Simply supporting your mind, body, and spirit to rest.
